State Vehicle Auction Saturday Morning
Governor M. Jodi Rell today announced that a State Vehicle Auction will be held on Saturday, October 31 at 60 State Street, Wethersfield. Inspection of auction vehicles is from 8:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.
A recent state vehicle auction resulted in 223 cars being sold, putting $510,800 back into the state's general fund. In August, Governor Rell announced the state had reduced its fleet of cars and trucks by more than 20 percent, saving more than $1 million and exceeding the goal she set through an Executive Order issued this past February. "I continue to do everything in my authority to trim the cost and size of state government," Governor Rell said. "The fiscal reality is that the state does not need all these vehicles. We will continue to find more efficient ways to conduct the state's business."
