Amazing Grace Meets The Governor

Amazing Grace, the puppy who's life was saved after a brutal stabbing attack earlier this year met Governor Rell today. The puppy's visit to the statehouse was to honor those who saved her life. "It's so sad," says veterinarian Dr. Alan Feldman. "She had a severed throat and was hours in the sub-freezing temperatures." The dog still bears the scar where her throat was slashed. Her name is Amazing Grace because she survived against all odds. The five other puppies attacked died.

This dog may be high profile, but she's still a bit shy. "She's a little shy but good at home," Joe Larovera told WTNH's Erin Cox. "She's great running around. Great with kids." The hospital bill for Grace was over nine thousand dollars, but contributions covered the cost. Now there's hope Grace will just live a dog's life. "We'll keep her at our house and hopefully she'll live a normal life," says Joe.

Brannon Chandler, the man charged with the stabbings, was ordered by a judge this week to spend two months in a mental hospital.
