Madonna @ Hartford Civic Center

I was looking for events to add to the calendar the other day, and I saw that the fabulous MADONNA, or Madge as I like to call her, is coming to the Hartford Civic Center on Sunday, June 25th at 8pm. I was sooooo excited. Madge! In Hartford! Woohoo!

As a child of the 80s, I love Madge, and don’t think she’ll ever go out of style. Well, wanting to get into the groove myself, and having only ever seen her concerts on TV before, of course, I want to get tickets to see this fabulous lady. Tickets will go on sale on Monday, April 10 at 10:00 a.m. and are priced $352, $167, $97 and $57. Fairly pricey. Or so I thought.

I had received a $100 StubHub.com gift voucher from my Boss that I haven’t used yet. I want to, just every time I look at the prices on StubHub they’re jacked up way, way, way out of my price range. Madonna prices are no exception. The highest price I saw there today was $2,858 for two tickets. They do look like great seats though, close enough in Row L (12 from the front?) on the floor, and likely close enough to see up the Material Girl’s nose, if you wanted to.

What’s bugging me, not just the phenomenally extortionate prices on these tickets, but the questions, how do these scalpers, that’s what they are in the politest way I can put it, actually get hold of the tickets before they go on sale, and how do they guarantee you’ll get those seats when they’re not actually on sale yet? It’s so not fair to the rest of us who actually like Madonna, or any artist for that matter. The best tickets should go to the fans, not the @#$%^&* money-grabbing Resellers.

If you have the answer, please let me know. Or if you’d like to donate a ticket to little ole me, I’m happy to accept that too! : )
