All Things Connecticut Debuts this Thursday

This Thursday (April 23rd) Connecticut Public Television (CPTV, www.cptv.org) debuts a new series "All Things Connecticut", a new eight-part weekly series, which tells the stories that make the Nutmeg State a unique place to live, work and play.

From the rugged low-tech joys of orienteering to eco-friendly recycled handbags, from fascinating biographies to stunning video essays, this new series focuses on every strange and wonderful facet of Connecticut life.

Hosted by Positively Connecticut's™ Diane Smith and a contributing staff of reporters who will bring fresh talent and homespun stories to the show. All Things Connecticut airs on Thursdays at 8 p.m. beginning April 23, with rebroadcasts on Mondays at 11 p.m. and Wednesdays at 5 p.m.

Each episode will highlight Connecticut’s myriad of delights via five noteworthy segments—Spotlight on the Arts, Inside Out, Treading Lightly, Positively Connecticut™ and Capturing Connecticut.

Episode one of All Things Connecticut—premiering on April 23—will feature the theme Something Old Is New Again. Segment highlights include:

  • Treading Lightly (Helping viewers go green with a look at our state through viridian-tinted glasses).
  • Positively Connecticut™ (Shining the spotlight on people who’ve helped craft our state’s history and on places that provide unique ideas for weekend excursions).
  • Inside Out (Taking viewers out of their homes and into Connecticut’s natural playground).
  • Spotlight on the Arts (Highlighting local artists, while underscoring the economic vitality and quality of life their work provides for Connecticut).
  • Capturing Connecticut (Inviting viewers to sit back and enjoy the sights and sounds of Connecticut through compelling video essays).
