Celebrate Black History Month in Mystic
Mystic Seaport will open for the first time a section of its George Greenman house, a reported stop on the Underground Railroad, in celebration of Black History Month. A number of workshops and performances that compliment the Museum's exhibit "Black Hands, Blue Seas: The Maritime Heritage of African Amerians." Activities for the month include instrument making, learning West African dance rhythms and discovering how stars guided people on the Underground Railroad.

Open Cockpit Sunday at the New England Air Museum
Come and play pilot for a day in the comfort of three huge heated hangars. The aircraft include WWII airplanes, such as the Corsair, several jet fighters including the F-100 Super Sabre, the popular DC-3 airliner and several helicopters. Up to 10 aircraft will be open for visitor entry. In addition, there will be hands-on activities for younger children. The John W. Ramsay Research Library will have a sale of used books and items surplus to their needs. Please wear rubber-soled shoes! A food vendor will be available for much of the day. Please note that Open Cockpits close at 4 p.m., while the Museum remains open until 5 p.m.
