Connecticut Contemporary
The Wadsworth Atheneum's engagement with contemporary art is as old and as venerable as the institution itself. From the time of its opening in 1844, the museum has supported the work of emerging artists, and since then has become an integral component of the Atheneum's identity and collections. For this exhibition, the Wadsworth Atheneum invited eight Connecticut artists-Rachel Berwick, Ellen Carey, Barkley Hendricks, Eva Lee, Sol LeWitt, Jessica Stockholder, Peter Waite, and Pawel Wojtasik-to participate and for each to select another Connecticut artist for the exhibition, who in turn selected another, resulting in a group of 24. In all, the exhibition will reflect the vibrancy and diversity of talent in the state.
Now through August 12th, 2007
Admission: $10 adults, $8 seniors, $5 Students, Free for children under 12.
