Tsunami Help In Connecticut
Please help the thousands of people affected by this devastating tragedy. To date reports show that up to 120,000 people have been killed by the powerful tsunamis in Southern Asia, and many more people are still missing. Indonesia, Sri Lanka and India have the greatest number of casualties, and the death toll is expected to continue rising as a result of disease, lack of supplies and access to clean water.

Westport based Save The Children are accepting donations for the thousands of children and families who were affected by the massive earthquake and tsunami.

Stamford's AmeriCares Foundation is also preparing emergency relief that will focus on bringing medicines, supplies and essential water purification treatments to the affected areas.
Several Connecticut doctors are already en-route to the area offering their help, including Dr. Hema deSilva, interim chairman of the pediatrics department and director of the neo-natal intensive care unit at St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center. The Stamford Advocate has the story.
