Shopping: A Dangerous Sport
It's that time of year again... the time when people book wake-up calls in order to be first in line for the seasonal bargains at Target, Best Buy, Toys "R" Us and more. This year I woke up and saw the madness on the local news! People were red-nosed, and bleary-eyed freezing in the cold morning temperatures which dipped into the 20s accross the state.
And moi? Wrapped up in a blanket, smug as a bug in a rug. Smug knowing that amazingly all our holiday shopping has been done already. Some of it online, some of it done over the past few weeks, and only one gift-card left to buy. After smugly, and safely watching the scramble for sales, I started to think that the only way to get me into one of those stores during the Black Friday Stampedes I would have to be dressed like a combination of Michael Strahan, of the New York Giants, and Tony Hawk, pro-skater. I could don Tony's helmet, knee and elbow pads, and the shin-guards and shoulder pads/chest protectors that football players wear, and then I'd be ready to shop! If you're still waiting to drop plastic, check out my new updated shopping section for links to all CT's great places to shop.
