In Activists worry about penalty for animal cruelty Ms. Benton chronicles the recent history of animal abuse in Connecticut, and the somewhat mild penalties that were imposed on the perpetrators. Protestors have been campaigning to have the maximum penalty of 30 years imposed against alleged puppy killer Brannon Chandler. He is due again in Derby Superior court on March 7th.
