Prescription Comparisons Allow Amazing Savings

Thanks to NBC30's LB, Logan Byrnes, for bringing this truly useful service to my attention on the news last night. Attorney General Richard Blumenthal's website has a feature where you can compare prescription drug prices between local pharmacies using zip code, town, or distance.

It doesn't list all the drugs I can think of, but it does list 38 of the most popular ones. As an example I looked up Detrol LA 4 MG Capsule and was amazed at the price difference. I used the Bristol ZipCode 06010, and the price per pill ranged from $.28 - $3.93. That's per pill by the way, in the same zipcode. A difference of $3.65 per pill. A saving of $219 for a supply of 60 pills. Wow! See the savings for yourself here.
