Competitors Offer Coffee Deals While Starbucks Closes For Training

On Tuesday, Starbucks will shut down all of its stores for a few hours, prompting competitors to percolate a plan to win your business.

Starbucks will be closing 7,100 stores nationwide for 3½ hours Tuesday night to retrain about 135,000 in-store employees and people who oversee the stores.

But while their baristas coffee jocks are being retrained on how to create the perfect shot, Dunkin' Donuts is trying to lure customers with 99-cent lattes from 1 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Stew Leonard’s is offering free coffee from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
